Computacenter acquires leading network integration and cabling specialist
The acquisition complements our existing capability in the growth area of converged IP based networks and related security and managed services, where clients look to achieve cost savings and flexibility. We believe Allnet’s capabilities and expertise here, combined with our extensive Microsoft skills, will enable us to deliver true unified communications and real value to our customers’ businesses. Allnet is particularly strong in the structured cabling and facilities optimisation market, where it is identified as one of only three ‘Tier 1’ service providers identified by BSRIA (The Building Services Research and Information Association). As a leading independent provider of Intelligent Infrastructure Management Solutions (IIMS/2MS), we also believe Allnet’s investment in tools and processes, which give IT managers the same measure of control over their cabling as over their network infrastructures, will benefit our clients. For their part, Allnet’s clients will benefit from a broader portfolio of end-to-end infrastructure services and from Computacenter’s scale advantages as a major technology supplier. They also benefit from the company’s investment in its ‘Shared Services Factory’ (SSF) operating model. By delivering services through shared resources and reference architectures the SSF ensures rapid and consistent delivery of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) based services in a systematic way.
Existing Allnet relationships with customers will remain unchanged. With immediate effect, Allnet will be marketed as “Allnet by Computacenter”.
Jon Bennett, Computacenter Technology Solutions Director, comments, “The acquisition of Allnet, again furthers our strategy of building breadth and depth of capability in infrastructure services. We believe the addition of Allnet will give us significant synergies and new opportunities to grow our services business.”
James Steventon, Managing Director of Allnet comments, “Our union with Computacenter is a highly attractive proposition for our customers, giving them access to wider geographical coverage and a far broader range of services. As part of a leading end-to-end services provider, I am confident we are well placed to realise our full business potential as a technology company”.
