CommProve, the leader in Radio Access Network Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring for 2G, 2.5G and 3G, today announced the appointment of David Wilkinson as CEO.

With over 16 years of management and operational experience in the telecoms industry, Wilkinson has a detailed understanding of the operator environment. His unrivalled knowledge of the challenges operators face will be instrumental in identifying new opportunities for CommProve globally.

“The demand for CommProve’s solutions from global operators highlights the significant benefits that an OSS for radio quality can deliver to GSM, GPRS and UMTS networks,” said Wilkinson. “We are now expanding our 3G capabilities at a crucial time for operators. As 3G achieves maturity and HSDPA is deployed, the quality of the radio link is vital to meet subscriber’s expectations of data service reliability and performance. I am looking forward to helping CommProve grow by enabling operators to improve the customer experience while reducing the operational costs to provide new technologies and services.”

“David’s experience and expertise of the wireless market in drive test systems, network planning and performance management software, will be instrumental in driving our growth,” said Mauro Pretolani, interim CEO and board representative of CommProve investor TLcom. “We are currently experiencing a period of global expansion as the value of our Netledge Radio QoS systems are recognised by operators in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia. CommProve is the only organisation that can offer mobile operators a comprehensive view of radio QoS across 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks. When you consider that radio issues result in the vast majority of network glitches, this is a particularly powerful offering. “

Prior to joining CommProve, Wilkinson worked for Actix, where he held key executive roles as COO and CEO, driving product development and global business expansion. He established Actix’s engineering and sales groups both in Europe and in North America, and was responsible for global sales targets. Prior to joining Actix, he was a key contributor to the growth of Metrica, where he pioneered the sale and acceptance of performance management software in Mobile operators
