Comarch, a leading Central European IT Business Solutions provider, has recorded excellent second quarter 2006 financial results. Significant figures include sales revenue in excess of 90 million PLN, operating profit at a level of 9.7 million PLN, an operating margin of 10.7% and a net margin of 8.6%. These results were reflected in the growth of the price of Comarch shares from 64.60 PLN on January 1 of this year to over 140 PLN at present. The profit per share in the first half of 2006 was 3.08 PLN compared with 1.41 PLN a year earlier. This amounts to an increase of over 100%.

- Although we have much to celebrate in the results from the preceding quarter, we must remember to keep our gaze fixed firmly on the future. A good measure of an IT company’s future success is its present order portfolio. Comarch’s order portfolio for 2006 is currently at a level of 386 million PLN – a figure 30% higher than that for the same period in 2005 – says Rafa³ Chwast, Chief Financial Officer, Comarch Vice-president.

An in-depth analysis of Comarch’s second quarter results – taking into account such extraordinary items as costs related to the management stock option program and revenue from the deferred tax asset from the Special Economic Zone (SSE) investment tax benefit – points to an even greater improvement in the financial results. After adjusting for the effects of the above-mentioned extraordinary items, operating profit for the second quarter was 10,527,000 PLN (compared with 3,691,000 PLN for second quarter 2005). Equally adjusted net profit was 10,806,000 PLN (compared with 2,687,000 PLN for the second quarter 2005). The adjusted second quarter operating margin grew to 12% in the second quarter of 2006 from 4% a year earlier, while the adjusted net margin grew to 12% from 3% over the same period.
