Das Sendegelände wurde durch Jones Lang LaSalle vermittelt und anschließend an eine Privatperson veräußert, die BBG das beste Angebot unterbreitet hatte. Über die Namen des Käufers und anderer Kaufinteressenten sowie den Kaufpreis wurde Stillschweigen vereinbart.
Das circa 800.000 Quadratmeter große Gelände ist von historischer Bedeutung: Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde dort Europas größte Radiosendestation betrieben. Später wurde die Sendestation von der Deutschen Bundespost genutzt.
