In-house exhibition - CHIRON Open House from March 18-20, 2015 "Ahead through variety"

As a highlight, for the first time, CHIRON will present the new generation of the 12-series compact vertical machining centers for efficient complete machining. Like all machines from this product range, this innovation will be demonstrated live in action during the in-house exhibition.
Practical presentations during these three days will show visitors interesting applications from the various sectors. Throughout the exhibition, employees will be available for company tours, personal discussions and consulting for current projects.
The after-work user meeting with live music from the CHIRON Big Band will conclude the in-house exhibition on Friday afternoon.
Premiere at the Open House: The new 12 series
The new generation of the compact and multifunctional 12 series will be seen for the first time. It is characterized by its especially rigid and robust design and offers an improved milling and drilling capacity for efficient series production on only 5 square meters of floor space. Size-45 linear guides on all three axes ensure maximum precision and the best machining performance. The spindle power can be as high as 44 kW, reaches maximum speeds of 18,000 rpm and a torque of 59 Nm. Even without using a separate background magazine, there is room for 128 HSK 50 tools for the first time in two magazine shafts for efficient complete machining, twice as many as in the previous model. Chip-to-chip times of 2.4 s show the high dynamics of the new 12 series, of which a single-spindle version can be seen at the Open House.
Compact turning/milling center FZ08 MT
In addition, attention will be focused on the new highly dynamic turning/milling center FZ08 MT, which celebrated its premiere at the AMB trade show. Having a footprint of only three square meters, it meets strict requirements for precision and surface quality of chuck parts and bar machining. It offers traverse paths (X-Y-Z) of 210 mm, 200 mm and 360 mm, an integrated swivel head, turning spindle and counter spindle. By default, the FZ08 MT is equipped with reliable ball screws; for higher demands on the workpiece surface, linear direct drives are available as an alternative.
The swivel head with torque drive has a swivel range from -10° to +100° and works at speeds up to 54,000 rpm. For efficient production, up to 100 tools are provided from the pick-up tool magazine. Workpieces with complex geometries can be conveniently processed from six sides by using a counter unit with an integrated swivel axis. The turning spindle enables complete machining at a speed of 8,000 rpm, a torque of 11 Nm and a bar passage of 32 mm.
Optionally, the user has a counter spindle, torque rotary table or stationary clamping device available so that the turning/milling center FZ08 MT can be used for a variety of different applications.
New Medical Technology Center
Fitting the Open House motto "Ahead through variety", an exhibition of machining centers of all series in the turnkey center shows a variety of configuration options and automation solutions. Sector-specific examples for medical engineering can also be seen in the new Medical Technology Center. As every year, CHIRON's partner companies present their products in the same hall.
Quick entry with baseline
CHIRON offers its baseline production line to customers who need a standardized, flexible and universally usable solution rather than an individually configured machining center. There are five full-fledged and quickly available single-spindle precision machining centers, which are already completely preconfigured and are therefore especially economical.
