Standard Register looks to CGS for "Hands-‐Free" Multi-‐Site Color Consistency in Digital Print
New case study highlights the use of ORIS Press Matcher / Web to optimize brand-‐critical color across multiple printing plants
Standard Register turned to CGS, and its ORIS Press Matcher // Web system to ensure color management standards through multiple sites and multiple production equipment, as detailed in a new case study released today. Early installations have proven highly successful, with full implementation expected to be complete within the first quarter of 2012. "Having this level of critical color accuracy over a multi-site network gives us a tremendous advantage," said Steve McDonell, Standard Register's vice president of engineering and sustainability.
ORIS Press Matcher // Web has been used with great success with Xerox iGen, Hewlett-Packard Indigo, and other full-gamut, high-production digital presses. Standard Register's multi-site, multi-device environment (including older, legacy equipment) is ideal for CGS' global color management approach.
CGS has a long and successful history of applying color science to emerging digital printing and proofing technology. ORIS technology has dominated major industry comparisons, earning multiple InterTech and other awards for practical technology innovation. At Graph Expo 2011, the company launched its ORIS Test Drive program for North American printers, enabling them to take full advantage of their investment in digital color print.
