CDA presents RFID access system

Suhl, (PresseBox) - CDA Datenträger Albrechts GmbH has developed its own RFID access system combining a locally networked system with an optical data medium. This means that CDA is able to provide a complete practical solution for its RFID Disc, for which a patent is pending. The system will be demonstrated for the first time to visitors at the CDA stand at the Games Convention in Leipzig from 20 to 23 August 2008.

An access system for events, trade fairs, concerts, etc. is one of the many ways in which the RFID Disc can be used. The access solution developed inhouse at CDA is based on a server, a fixed reading station and mobile reader devices. The connection between the units and the data media, containing an RFID chip, is provided by a radio network.

The RFID chip is inseparably linked with a CD or DVD and contains a globally unique marker that identifies the data medium precisely.

"Our solution combines the advantages of a multimedia data medium with the functions of an access system", says Dr. Nicolaus Hettler, Managing Director at CDA. "Every visitor can be identified without contact, so access authorization can be simply checked without visual contact. At the same time, it is also possible to provide visitors with additional sound and image information on the data medium, such as videos, product information or recordings.

CDA will be presenting the access system as a demo version at its stand at the Games Convention in Leipzig from 20 to 23 August 2008 and will be demonstrating it to the visitors to the Business Center live. The motto for the Thuringia-based replication company at this year's trade fair will be "Trust is good, safety is better"
