Quick-fit couplings - for the first time with antiseptic properties
The possibility to equip couplings with antiseptic properties is truly market leading and will be presented for the first time at the MEDTEC show in Stuttgart by WALTHER-PRÄZISION.
Using the reliable WALTHER coupling technology one or several lines of fluids can be connected or disconnected at the same time quickly and without any problems. In addition, specific designs minimizes the quantities of process fluids released whilst connecting or disconnecting, they also prevent nearly all atmospheric air entering into the line. Additional features can be incorporated for monitoring or documenting of processes as well as making couplings non-interchangeable electronically or mechanically. A well-trained team of coupling specialists is prepared to find and implement the optimal solutions together with the customer.
One of the most important applications for medical coupling technologies is the supply of medical gases.
For the supply to hospital beds, operating theatres, intensive-care units etc. with medical gases WALTHER-PRÄZISION offers a wide variety of screw-type and plug-type couplings, angular connectors and auxiliary equipment. The couplings are suitable to supply air, oxygen, nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide or vacuum. They are designed according to the specific gas and offer non-interchangeability in order to ensure a high level of operational safety. Thanks to optional antiseptical surfaces the spread of pathogens during handling is effectively controlled.
The connectors are characterized by their robust construction which is expected from a WALTHER coupling. They meet the specific country standards (DIN, BS, NF/AFNOR, UNI, SS) and design regulations. A modern achievement is diagnostics by computer tomography.
For many years WALTHER-PRÄZISION has been offering quick-fit couplings developed specially for applications in computer tomography (CT)-systems to efficiently connect the cooling supply lines to x-ray emitters. Attached to the x-ray source these couplings rotate with high speed in the housing of the CT-scanner, designed to resist an acceleration of up to 30g; Due to their low weight WALTHER couplings reduce imbalance and acceleration inertia. These properties are highly valued by the customers.
Designed especially for these requirements the screw and plug type couplings of WALTHER-PRÄZISION meet another important requirement in reducing air inclusions in the cooling fluid which may impair the function of the CT scanners. The couplings are designed that during connection no ambient air can enter the cooling line. The same clean-break technology enables the lines to be disconnected without loss of fluids meeting the highest demands for leakage at the same time. Some versions even allow the coupling to connect against residual line pressures.
Today vital organic functions can be provided more often outside the human body thanks to technical progress. Often, it is only coupling technology that creates the economical feasibility necessary for use of this high-value equipment. One example is dialysis.
