Brocade stellt die erste neue Funktionalität vor, die Interoperabilität für das nahtlose Zusammenspiel von Brocade Switchen mit Produkten anderer Hersteller bietet. Die neue Software-Komponente mit der Bezeichnung Brocade Access Gateway wurde insbesondere für die Integration der Brocade und ehemaligen McData Lösungen entwickelt. Die Brocade Access Gateway-Lösung wird für Bladed SAN Switches von Dell, HP, IBM, Fujitsu Siemens und andere ab der zweiten Hälfte 2007 zur Verfügung stehen.

Die neue Funktionalität basiert auf der N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV)-Technologie, die durch das T11 Technical Committee industrieweit standardisiert wurde.
