Das im Jahr 2008 von der Groupe E und der BKW FMB Energie AG (BKW) beschlossene Energiedatenmanagement hat sich bewährt und einen wichtigen Beitrag zum erfolgreichen Start in die Strommarktöffnung geleistet. Dank der Nutzung von Synergien im Bereich Datenmanagement konnten die hohen Kosten zur Vorbereitung auf einen liberalisierten Markt tief gehalten werden. Von dem im Hinblick auf die Strommarktliberalisierung gebildeten Dienst im Bereich Stromzählung und Energieabrechnung (EDM - Energy Data Management) konnten innert eines Jahres schweizweit bereits 89 Elektrizitätswerke profitieren.
