Real-estate services provider Apleona is selling its building construction activities to the leading Swiss construction and construction services company Implenia. Both sides have agreed to keep financial details of the transaction confidential. The ‘Hochbau’ unit is part of the former Bilfinger Building and Facility business segment that was acquired from Bilfinger by Swedish financial investor EQT in the summer and which now operates under the name Apleona. Following the sale, Apleona will focus on its core activities and further develop the business with real estate services in Europe. Dr. Jochen Keysberg, CEO of Apleona GmbH, announced the sale several weeks ago and is now very satisfied with the results: “With Implenia, we are happy to have found a well-known construction company as buyer for the building construction units. As a growth-oriented company, it offers employees good prospects for the future.” Andreas Aschenbrenner, partner at EQT, explained: “Implenia is a very responsible owner, one that will develop the business together with employees.” Hochbau currently generates an output volume of roughly €450 million with 1,000 employees and operates nearly exclusively on the German market. The company provides services ranging from design through to turnkey construction of buildings and has proven competence in construction site logistics and cold storage construction as well as in facade technology. Not part of the transaction are the building construction units Wolfferts Gebäudetechnik, R&M Ausbau and Bauperformance – these are an integrated part of Apleona’s service portfolio.
