Baumüller offers the softdrivePLC for direct integration of PLC and motion control functionalities into the controllers
One advantage is cost savings due to no longer requiring control hardware. Another is that the programs run highly synchronized with the controller clock at cycle times of up to 125 µs and simple, special filters can be programmed. In addition, the fieldbus communication between two axes is no longer necessary in double axis units because the b maXX softdrivePLC can access both controllers in a double axis unit in the b maXX 5300.
In this case for instance, as a function of the load distribution, Baumüller offers an integrated technology which allows for gantry axes to be easily and economically integrated into the machine process. In addition, via the direct connection, master-slave functions can be very easily realized and all of the axes have access to parameters such as, for instance, target and actual values.
The b maXX softdrivePLC runs as part of the firmware in the Baumüller drive concepts, b maXX 5000, b maXX 3300 and in the decentralized drive concept, b maXX 2500 and is suitable for single and double axis applications.
