April 13-15, 2010 in the "Stadthalle Aschaffenburg"

The third Entwicklerforum Akkutechnologien (Developer Forum Battery Technologies), hosted by the batteryuniversity.eu, takes place from April 13 to 15, 2010 in the "Stadthalle Aschaffenburg", Germany. Attendees are offered a comprehensive twoday congress program with 24 technical presentations (mainly in German), a oneday Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) Workshop with focus on battery standardization, a halfday seminar on the topic of United Nations transportation regulations for lithium batteries and a lithiumion introductory course for newcomers.

During the first two days (April 13 and 14), specialists from leading manufacturers and institutions - including A 123 Systems, Akasol Engineering, BaSyTec Batterie System Technik, BMZ Batterien-Montage-Zentrum, Boston Power, Cham Battery Technology, Digatron, enertech International, ESG Elektroniksysteme- und Logistik, Fraunhofer IIS Institut für Integrierte Schaltungen, Fraunhofer ISC Institut für Silikatforschung, Fraunhofer ISE Institut für solare Energiesysteme, LION Smart, Maxell Deutschland, Maxim Integrated Products, Panasonic Industrial Europe, Panasonic Electronic Devices Europe, RRC Power Solutions, Saft Batterien, Samsung SDI, Sanyo, Sony, Texas Instruments, Texsys and ZSW - Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoffforschung Baden-Württemberg - will present the latest technology trends and solutions.

An additional highlight this year is the national LEV Workshop, which takes place on the third day (Thursday, April 15). This workshop is initiated by ExtraEnergy.org in cooperation with the batteryuniversity.eu as a counterpart to the Chineselanguage LEV Symposium, which takes place in Taipei in March, 2010. The workshop gets started with a presentation by experts from SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs GmbH on the topic of safety in today's LEVs. Following this, specialist from EnergyBus e.V., Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sonnenenergie, Fachhochschule Pforzheim and CAN in Automation e.V. (CiA), show standardization chances and models in the area of LEVs. ZVEI Fachverband Batterien takes a closer look at the new battery regulations and in the concluding part of the workshop, speakers from BATSO, Li-Tec, TÜV Rheinland and IB-REC go into more detail regarding the requirements and practicable solutions.

"The fact that the first national LEV Workshop will take place within the framework of the Developer Forum, hosted by the batteryuniversity.eu, underlines the firstclass reputation that the Developer Forum has in the battery and accumulator sectors," expressed Sven Bauer, founder of the batteryuniversity.eu.

A total of approximately 450 attendees used last year's 3day Developer Forum Battery Technologies to gather firsthand information about topics such as current battery technologies and chemicals, reliability and lifespan of batteries, charger technologies, regulations and standards, UN transport regulations for lithium batteries, battery test equipment, safety of large rechargeable batteries, protection circuits, battery drives and power management for electric and hybrid vehicles, fuel cells and a lot more. The large number of attendees is a confirmation for Sven Bauer that the batteryuniversity.eu has adopted the right approach for its forum concept. "In a world in which mobility in all sectors is playing an ever greater role, innovative battery technologies have an increasingly important key function. With our forum, we want to open the door to this mobile world for developers without them having first to search a long time for the right key. I think we can say that we have also been very successful in doing this."

Combined with the conference is an exhibition, which is open continuously on all 3 days from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, where attendees can get detailed information and advice from the experts about their new products and technologies.

The attendance fee for the complete 3day Developer Forum and LEV Workshop is 850 Euro plus 19% MwSt. (German Value Added Tax) per person. For the twoday Developer Forum the attendance fee is 690.00 Euro plus 19% MwSt. per person and for the oneday LEV Workshop is 350 Euro plus 19% MwSt. per person. Admission fees for the Grundlagenschulung "Lithium Ion" (Fundamentals "Lithium Ion") and the Seminar "UN Transportvorschriften" (Seminar "UN transportation regulations") are 180 Euro plus 19% MwSt. per person respectively. Register before February 13, 2010 and you will receive an early bird discount of up to 100 Euro, depending on the package selected.
