New AVK working group on continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic semi-finished products

The kick-off event for a new AVK working group dedicated to "Continuous Fibre-Reinforced Thermoplastics in the Automobile Sector" took place in Frankfurt on 1 July.

This was initiated by the founding members of the working group - BASF, DuPont, Evonik, Lanxess and Bond-Laminates. The interest from the composites industry in this highly topical event was enormous: over 100 participants attended to hear the latest news about the working group's planned mission and activities.

After an introduction by Dr. Christian Obermann (Bond-Laminates GmbH) outlining the group's objectives, Dr. Sebastian Schmeer (IVW Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe GmbH) presented the first results of
