Applix and Atex: a New International Partnership in the Digital Publishing Industry
The Applix-Atex partnership satisfies the growing need for publishers to find efficient solutions and platforms able to optimise the production and delivery costs of "Interactive Editions" on multiple channels (print, web, tablet).
This is a new way of conceiving publishing: a new vision and a new platform that makes it possible to manage in a simple and integrated manner paper-based and digital publishing products with different life cycles.
This month Atex and Applix will attend two international events: the 66th World Newspaper Congress in Turin on 9th June and the FIPP Innovation Forum 2014 in London at the end of the month. These international showcases, dedicated to newspaper and magazine publishers, respectively, act as a springboard for the launch of the publishing solutions resulting from this new strategic partnership.
"This new important strategic and business partnership with Atex relies on all the innovation of the Viewerplus platform and the results achieved in supporting successfully the presence of publishers and partners on mobile devices." - states Claudio Somazzi, Applix CEO - "This new product by Viewerplus and Atex, a mix of platforms and experiences, is at the top of innovation and performance among the best pre-press systems for the publishing world, in Italy and abroad ".
Federico Marturano, Atex Director of Global Sales, adds - "Atex provides end to end solutions to the media industry. Our Atex Content solution manages all production aspects of a media rich organization, from newsroom planning and coordination to complex web portals management, and the partnership with Applix extends our tablet/mobile offering. The combination of our products will create a new digital publishing paradigm where tablet becomes integral part of the multichannel production workflow. We are very excited to partner with Applix because it is a company that has a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities posed by the continuously evolving world of mobile devices."
