AsiaInfo's game-changing Real-time Self Service solution proves an Award winner

AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc., Asia's leading supplier of BSS systems, has won the 'Mobile Pricing Innovation' category in The 2014 Telecoms.com Industry Awards, which recognize innovation and excellence in the global communications industry. The award, for AsiaInfo's Real-time Self Service (RTSS) solution, was presented in Barcelona to Dr Andy Tiller, vice president of product marketing for AsiaInfo, by Mike Hibberd, Editorial Director at Telecoms.com.

Operators with AsiaInfo's RTSS solution are empowered to give their customers a high degree of control over their mobile voice and data experience, greatly improving customer experience. For example, RTSS enables customers to set their own budget controls and spend thresholds, to transfer minutes/data between users, to convert resources from one type to another (e.g. minutes into megabytes), and to upgrade the bandwidth of a particular app temporarily. Shared Plans are enabled while putting real time control into the hands of consumers.

"We are delighted to receive this recognition of a solution developed to enable operators to deliver a greatly enhanced user experience, while maximizing revenue," said Dr Tiller. "The need is clear - independent research conducted by consultants at Northstream shows that mobile operators in Western Europe could increase annual data revenues by about €4 billion by giving customers greater control of their use and spend, and could also save more than €540 million annually in customer care costs."

AsiaInfo's Cloud-based Operation Platform Container (COPC), developed with China Mobile, was a finalist in the 'Best Use of Cloud Services by a Telco' category. The COPC is a centralized BSS system with a distributed multi-tenancy architecture that streamlines business operations across operator subsidiaries. Estimated to reduce the overall time to market for new services and offers by 40%, and reduce average processing time of service orders by 30%, implementation of the COPC significantly increases customer satisfaction. For China Mobile, Capex and Opex savings were $120 million within the first year of use. The revenue increase derived from shortened order processing time, and the new products enabled by the COPC, is estimated to be $40 million every year.
