Supplying of premium service to local market
Armacell, a leader in flexible insulation foams for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, continues its international growth strategy and launches own production facility in Russia. The plant is located in Lobnya, north of Moscow. It will produce a comprehensive range of products, including high-density materials. These will serve major distributors and general construction companies as well as their installers in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Azerbaijan.
“The Russian market is very interesting for us as the local demand for high-performance insulation products is continuously growing. This is mainly due to the increasing substitution of traditional insulation materials. Here, our flexible foam solutions provide a superior product at a lower total installed cost”, says Patrick Mathieu, CEO of Armacell International S.A. “With our new plant in Russia we underline our consistent effort to build-up regional market expertise in order to supply first-class services to the local market. Furthermore, we continue to focus on expanding our strong market position and to deliver on our international growth strategy.”
Armacell has been present in Russia since 2008. In March 2010, the subsidiary 'OOO Armacell Rus' was established and warehouses in Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Saint Petersburg were added in the following two years. An increasing diversity in the customer portfolio and an expansion of the distribution network in Russia followed. Hence, the brownfield construction of our own production site is the logical next step to serve the continuously growing domestic demand.
Armacell is a world leader in flexible insulation foams for the equipment insulation market and also a leading provider of engineered foams. In the year 2014, the company with currently approximately 2,600 employees generated net sales of EUR 452.2 million. With its 23 manufacturing plants in 16 countries on four continents, Armacell follows a strategy of internationalization. The company operates within two main businesses: the Advanced Insulation business develops flexible insulation foam products for the insulation of mechanical equipment. The Engineered Foams business develops and markets light foams for use in a broad range of end-markets.
The high-tech insulation products of Armacell increase the global energy efficiency and are used in many high-end facilities, including the Empire State Building and the International Space Station. They are an integral part of everyday life: beyond thermal insulation, Armacell products are used as acoustic insulation, as gaskets and seals in a variety of modern car models or as central components of wind turbine blades.
