L'usine canadienne de McClean Lake, exploitée par AREVA dans la province de la Saskatchewan, a commencé le traitement du minerai uranifère en provenance de la mine de Cigar Lake distante de 70 km et opérée depuis mars 2014.
Cette usine est la seule installation au monde conçue pour traiter sans le diluer un minerai à forte teneur en uranium. Sa production devrait atteindre 400 tonnes d'uranium cette année.
