AREVA NP management board in Germany strengthened to boost nuclear business

Christian Hillrichs new Technical Managing Director

(PresseBox) (Erlangen, ) The Supervisory Board of AREVA NP GmbH appointed Christian Hillrichs as the new Technical Managing Director of AREVA NP GmbH. It was decided at the same time to create a new post of “Management Spokesperson” within the executive management team.

The previous Technical Managing Director, Dr. Ralf Güldner, will take up this new post, thereby continuing as a member of the management team. In future he will be responsible, in particular, for representing the company in relations with customers, trade associations and political parties. The Commercial Managing Director Rüdiger Steuerlein will continue in his role with no change in responsibilities.

The Supervisory Board’s decision to create this new management post reflects positive developments in terms of both business and human resources in recent years, as well as the significant increase in interest in nuclear power among politicians and the German media.

The changes in management will take effect from September 16, 2007. Christian Hillrichs will fill the role of Technical Managing Director in addition to his existing responsibilities as head of the Services Germany Sector.

Ralf Güldner will continue to be responsible for the global nuclear fuels business of AREVA NP, which he has headed from his office in Paris, as Executive Vice President, since November 1, 2006.
