Arburg is a pioneer in energy efficiency. The topic has been treated in a comprehensive and global manner and has been enshrined in the corporate philosophy for many years. Energy economy and the conservation of resources are important aspects with regard to all developments and investments. The latest example of Arburg's energy efficiency activities is the current energy-saving campaign in France with energy provider EDF Entreprises as a partner.

The French national energy provider EDF Entreprises will be paying a significant bonus for companies procuring an electric or hybrid injection moulding machine in France. The campaign is based on the CEE energy saving certificate that was set down in law in 2005 with the aim of significantly reducing industrial energy consumption. The certificate, which is specially intended for electric or hybrid injection moulding machines, was introduced at the end of 2013.

France subsidises energy-efficient machines

Marc Schuh, Managing Director of Arburg France, was heavily involved in the project and, jointly with the energy experts, elaborated the conditions for the state subsidy, which injection moulding companies in France will benefit from. The subsidy is available for electric and hybrid Allrounder machines from the Alldrive, Edrive and Hidrive, all of which bear the e² energy-efficiency label.

"Through the cooperation with EDF Entreprises, we are promoting electric and hybrid machine technology, which consumes up to 50 percent less energy compared to hydraulic drives." This in turn helps EDF Entreprises to comply with the statutory energy saving targets. "We subsidise customers with regard to their investments in energy-efficient electric and hybrid machines with up to ten percent of the purchase price", says Marc Gendron, Department Manager of Services & Partners at EDF Entreprises in France. The bonus depends on the machine type, the installed power and the operating conditions. For an ALLROUNDER 570 A 1600-1300, it can amount to 7,400 euros or more. The subsidy is available at least until 31 December 2014, provided the machine is deployed in France.

ARBURG offers further financial incentive

"In addition to the EDF campaign, we are this year establishing further incentives for investing in energy-saving machines in order to improve production efficiency," says Marc Schuh: "All customers who purchase an Allrounder subsidised by EDF Entreprises also receives the preparation for use with an Integralpicker or three-axis Multilift robotic system free-of-charge from us."

Regional information event

In April 2014, the energy provider EDF as well as the associations Fédération de la Plasturgie and ACDI will hold several regional events in France in order to provide customers with in-depth information on energy-saving options and details regarding the bonus.
