Arburg at the Plastindia 2012

(PresseBox) (Lossburg, ) .
- Allrounder 470 H demonstrates high-speed thin-wall application
- Hidrive series predestined for packaging applications
- Arburg presence in the Indian market

The Plastindia trade fair, to be held in New Delhi from 1 to 6 February 2012, will afford Arburg and its longstanding trading partner, Unimark, an opportunity to demonstrate injection moulding machine technology "Made in Germany". A hybrid Allrounder 470 H injection moulding machine will be used to demonstrate the cost-efficient production of ice cream tubs on stand C4 in Hall 12.

An Allrounder 470 H with a clamping force of 1,000 kN and a size 290 injection unit will demonstrate a high-speed, thin-walled application. A 2-cavity mould will be used on the hybrid high-performance machine to produce thin-walled ice cream tubs. The focus will be on production reliability and cost efficiency. In addition to machine availability and energy consumption, the cycle time is a decisive factor when products are manufactured in large volumes for the packaging industry. At the fair, two 100 ml tubs, each weighing 4.5 grams, will be produced from transparent PP in a cycle time of around 3.5 seconds.

Hidrive for high performance in short cycles

The Arburg Hidrive series comprises hybrid machines with clamping forces from 600 to 5,000 kN that combine maximum production output with shorter cycles and reduced energy consumption. They combine the advantages of servo-electric and hydraulic components from the modular Allrounder system, a servo-electric toggle-type clamping unit and a powerful hydraulic injection unit featuring hydraulic accumulator technology and electro-mechanical dosage. As the movement axes can be actuated independently, simultaneous movements are possible in any combination. The option of dosage across cycles also delivers significant time savings. Because overall energy requirements have been optimised, the Allrounder H machines enable energy savings of around 40 percent. For this reason, all Hidrive machines bear the Arburg "e²" energy-efficiency label to indicate their optimum energy efficiency.

Complexity made simple with the Selogica control system

Not least due to the increasing complexity of applications and the rising demand for customer and branch-specific production cells, machine control systems are gaining increasing significance. As the all-important human-machine interface, Selogica must also integrate robotic systems as well as other peripherals and enable simple, intuitive programming and operation of the entire injection moulding system. The key advantage here is that Arburg continues to develop both the hardware and software of its Selogica control system independently, in line with the principle of "Making complex tasks easy". The developments in the machine and control system area from a single source and are coordinated at the appropriate level of detail.

Comprehensively meeting quality and efficiency requirements

"In the Indian market we are finding that the technical standard of products is continuously rising and that requirements in terms of product quality and efficient moulded part production are becoming more demanding," explains Helmut Heinson, Managing Director Sales at Arburg. "Our modular Allrounder injection moulding machines, our extensive range of robotic systems and our unique Selogica machine control system mean that we are perfectly positioned to meet ambitious demands in terms of precision, reproducibility, productivity and energy efficiency across all sectors." All injection moulding machines are produced at the company's headquarters in Lossburg and carry the "Made by Arburg - Made in Germany" seal of quality

Arburg more than 20 years in India

"We have been represented on the Indian subcontinent for over 20 years through our trading partner Unimark, with whom we enjoy a highly-successful collaboration," adds Helmut Heinson. The high-tech injection moulding machines are used in a variety of industries and applications - from disposable syringes and complex automotive parts to mobile phone shells, micro gear wheels and irrigation systems. In addition to technology, Arburg offers customers extensive support at local level, starting from sales, through presales and after-sales service, to consulting on applications engineering. Because well-qualified personnel are so important to Arburg, following in-depth initial training, all service technicians attend regular courses on the latest products at the headquarters in Lossburg. Arburg thereby ensures a uniformly high level of service competence worldwide.

Arburg, a German machine construction company, is one of the leading global manufacturers of injection moulding machines for plastics processing with clamping forces between 125 kN and 5,000 kN. Fields of application include the production of plastic parts for motor vehicles, communications and consumer electronics, medical technology, domestic appliances and packaging. The product range is completed by robotic systems, complex projects and other peripherals. Arburg's operations are coordinated by an integrated management system and are DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001 certified. Arburg is represented by its own organisations at 32 locations in 24 countries and by trading partners in more than 50 countries. However, production takes place exclusively in the parent factory in Lossburg (Germany) - with the mark of quality "made by Arburg - made in Germany". From a total of around 2,150 Arburg employees, 1,800 work in Germany. A further 350 employees work in Arburg's organisations around the world.
