The Plastindia trade fair, to be held in New Delhi from 1 to 6 February 2012, will afford Arburg and its longstanding trading partner, Unimark, an opportunity to demonstrate injection moulding machine technology "Made in Germany". A hybrid Allrounder 470 H injection moulding machine will be used to demonstrate the cost-efficient production of ice cream tubs on stand C4 in Hall 12.
An Allrounder 470 H with a clamping force of 1,000 kN and a size 290 injection unit will demonstrate a high-speed, thin-walled application. A 2-cavity mould will be used on the hybrid high-performance machine to produce thin-walled ice cream tubs. The focus will be on production reliability and cost efficiency. In addition to machine availability and energy consumption, the cycle time is a decisive factor when products are manufactured in large volumes for the packaging industry. At the fair, two 100 ml tubs, each weighing 4.5 grams, will be produced from transparent PP in a cycle time of around 3.5 seconds.
Hidrive for high performance in short cycles
The Arburg Hidrive series comprises hybrid machines with clamping forces from 600 to 5,000 kN that combine maximum production output with shorter cycles and reduced energy consumption. They combine the advantages of servo-electric and hydraulic components from the modular Allrounder system, a servo-electric toggle-type clamping unit and a powerful hydraulic injection unit featuring hydraulic accumulator technology and electro-mechanical dosage. As the movement axes can be actuated independently, simultaneous movements are possible in any combination. The option of dosage across cycles also delivers significant time savings. Because overall energy requirements have been optimised, the Allrounder H machines enable energy savings of around 40 percent. For this reason, all Hidrive machines bear the Arburg "e²" energy-efficiency label to indicate their optimum energy efficiency.
Complexity made simple with the Selogica control system
Not least due to the increasing complexity of applications and the rising demand for customer and branch-specific production cells, machine control systems are gaining increasing significance. As the all-important human-machine interface, Selogica must also integrate robotic systems as well as other peripherals and enable simple, intuitive programming and operation of the entire injection moulding system. The key advantage here is that Arburg continues to develop both the hardware and software of its Selogica control system independently, in line with the principle of "Making complex tasks easy". The developments in the machine and control system area from a single source and are coordinated at the appropriate level of detail.
