The line-up includes speakers from Ineos, Moorgate Capital, Nordmann & Rassmann and Elix Polymers(PresseBox) (Bristol, )
Keeping margins at a reasonable level is an everyday struggle between polymer suppliers and distributors; converters have become more cautious in their purchasing and pricing and supply volatility impacted on buying trends. The US shale gas revolution has changed dynamics in the global polyethylene supply and has put under increasing pressure not only European polymer producers but also previously highly competitive raw material suppliers in the Middle East. Except for the periods of a weak euro, Europe has seen and will continue to see increased volumes of imported material. This is a result of huge capacity expansion expected to come on stream in Asia in the course of the next five years as well as the general slowdown in the global economy. This includes China which continues to strive for increasing self-sufficiency by booming polymer producing capacities, while its polymer demand gradually slows down.
AMI's Polymer Sourcing & Distribution 2017 conference will provide participants with an opportunity to review recent trends in sourcing options for plastic materials and the implications for their business. Key papers will discuss individual feedstock and resin market trends and assess the supply, distribution and logistical opportunities in emerging markets of Iran, Africa, Eastern Europe and South America. Furthermore, the distributors forum will dig deep in the topics such as the best practice for credit control, the role of a distributor in serving SMEs, the differences in distribution models in NAFTA and Europe or what the impact on the UK will be once it steps out of the European Union. The conference will also discuss the changing industry structure of plastics processing, the effects of ongoing consolidation, highlighting the latest mergers and acquisitions; and will conclude with a discussion panel chaired by the leading industry players.
The conference is an ideal place for all involved to network with senior personnel from every link in the European polymer supply chain.
