AMS Technologies kündigt das System DiodeGuardTM von VueMetrix Inc. an, einen neuen Ansatz zum Schutz von Diodenlasern in Serienschaltungen.

Zum ersten Mal gibt es einen wirksamen Schutz vor Kaskadenfehlern bei in Serie geschalteten Diodenlasern.
Kaskadenfehler von Diodenlasern in Serienschaltung treten meistens dann auf, wenn eine defekte Diode einen Kurzschluss und dadurch einen kurzzeitigen Abfall der Durchgangsspannung in der Diodenreihe verursacht. Wird diese mit einer „switched mode“ Spannungsversorgung betrieben, führt ein plötzlicher Spannungsabfall zu einem Stromstoß, der schwerwiegende Schäden bei den verbleibenden Dioden auslöst.
