AMS Technologies und Redfern Integrated Optics (RIO), Inc., ein amerikanischer Hersteller von speziellen, schmalbandigen Lasern, haben ein Distributionsabkommen geschlossen. Dies berechtigt AMS Technologies zum Vertrieb der RIO Produktpalette in ganz Europa.

RIO entwickelt und fertigt optische Transmitter auf Basis der proprietären PLANEX(TM) (Planar External Cavity Laser) Technologie, welche hohe Leistungsfähigkeit bei niedrigen Kosten für die verschiedensten Anwendungen ermöglicht. Die Transmitter werden in kommerzielle und militärische faseroptische Sensorapplikationen, einschließlich interferometrischer Sensoren mit hohen Sensoranzahlen, und im Tele- und Datacom-Bereich eingesetzt.
