Die Solarwärmepumpe LW 90 Solar von Alpha-InnoTec nutzt die Wärme aus Solarthermie-Kollektoren direkt über den Verdampfer. Dies erhöht die Effizienz der gesamten Anlage deutlich. Die LW 90 Solar ist damit die direkte Verbindung zwischen Solarthermie und Wärmepumpe.

Bereits ohne spezielle Solar-Unterstützung erreicht die Luft/Wasser-Wärmepumpe LW 90 Solar eine hohe Effizienz und eine Leistung von 8,8 kW bei A2/W35. Kommt eine direkte Einspeisung der Solarthermie in die Wärmepumpe dazu, steigt der COP auf bis zu 3,7. Zudem erhöht sich durch die Solareinbindung auch die Heizleistung des Geräts.
