On 17 September 2014, ALPHA Energy & Environment GmbH has won the Best of Building Award as best medium-sized engineering firm.

With this award, the members of the U.S. Green Building Council recognise the most sustainable products, projects, organisations and individuals active in the green building movement.

ALPHA EE was the only European company nominated in its category. It clearly prevailed over American competitors by a voting margin of 30%.

"We are overwhelmed by the clear result. It is clear evidence that our experience and competence in LEED® is recognised internationally " says Kay Killmann, Managing Director of ALPHA Energy & Environment GmbH.

The focus of the work of the Munich-based consulting firm is building certification under international systems. The company, founded in 2008, is an expert in the LEED system provided by the American association, the USGBC. Numerous properties have been successfully certified in recent years, including major projects such as The Squaire in Frankfurt and portfolios for the U.S. Army. In addition, an existing building in Switzerland has been certified in 'Gold' using the new version of LEEDv4.

ALPHA EE actively supports the development and adaptation of LEED in the European market and through the German Green Building Association is always in contact wth the USGBC. The success of ALPHA EE aids the application of the US system in Europe.

"The Best of Building Award recognises the proactive commitment and innovative achievements of ALPHA Energy & Environment" congratulates Mahesh Ramanujam, COO of USGBC.
