Alcatel baut für VimpelCom mobiles Netz der nächsten Generation

Der führende russische Anbieter von Telekommunikationsdiensten, VimpelCom, setzt künftig im Ural die NGN-Lösung (Netze der nächsten Generation) von Alcatel ein.

VimpelCom will damit die Betriebskosten für sein GSM/GPRS-Netz reduzieren und gleichzeitig den Aufwand für die Einführung von 3G/UMTS minimieren. Auf diese Weise schützt der Netzbetreiber langfristig seine Investitionen für die Einführung von IP-Multimedia-Subsystemen (IMS). Das Projekt soll im dritten Quartal 2005 fertig gestellt werden.

Das Herzstück der Mobile-NGN-Lösung von VimpelCom ist der Mehr-Standard-Mobile-Softswitch Alcatel 5020 Spatial Atrium, der verteilte Media-Gateways steuert und Sprach- und Datendienste verwaltet. Diese Plattform unterstützt gleichzeitig zahlreiche Generationen von Mobilfunk-Standards, einschließlich GSM/EDGE, 3 G/UMTS ujx JtGt/ZMN (Mkhrpsufkf Txuhas Irxdxv).
