AGOWA genomics celebrated opening and 15th anniversary

On 12 June 2008, AGOWA genomics, LGC’s genomics specialist in Germany, held a grand opening and anniversary party at its new premises in Berlin

Berlin, (PresseBox) - Around 100 guests from different European countries, including AGOWA genomics customers, suppliers, local VIPs, biotech partners and LGC colleagues attended. They heard four interesting scientific lectures in the morning, given by AGOWA genomics customers, and took a tour around the new labs and offices in the afternoon.

With the daily business continuing, the guests were able to observe the AGOWA genomics workforce during their day-to-day routine, including preparing DNA samples for sequencing and extracting DNA from different starting materials like blood or plant tissue. To discover the new laboratories and to meet the AGOWA people was the highlight of the day for most guests.

A customer said: "It was nice to look around the state-of-the-art labs and to get to know staff who I had only previously spoken to on the phone.""The idea of having a combined grand opening event and to celebrate AGOWA's 15th anniversary resulted in a big success for the Berlin team. Customers from different European countries and local VIPs got a very positive impression of our business." mentioned Dr. Steffen Krüger, Managing Director of the AGOWA GmbH.
