Adval Tech's Bodenweid plant, which is operated by Styner+Bienz FormTech Ltd, is to be acquired by Stoppani AG, Neuenegg, with effect from the beginning of January 2011. Adval Tech Holding Ltd and Stoppani AG signed a letter of intent to this effect on November 25, 2010. The plant in Bern-Bümpliz, which is engaged in the production of sheet metal housings and nontool- dependent sheet metal processing in small lots, no longer forms part of the Adval Tech Group's strategic sphere of activities. The group has established itself in recent years as an industrial partner operating on a global scale, supplying volume components in metals and plastics in large unit numbers for selected markets in the automotive, medical technology and consumer goods industries. "The Board of Directors and Group Management of the Adval Tech Group are confident that this sale to Stoppani AG opens up excellent future prospects for the personnel of the Bodenweid plant", comments CEO Jean-Claude Philipona.

For Stoppani AG, which operates in the machinery, high-tech and medical industries, the Bodenweid plant ideally complements its existing activities. Stoppani will retain all 63 employees. Guido Pinna, CEO of Stoppani AG, observes: "The Bodenweid plant will enable us to reinforce our market position significantly and provide a broader basis for our business through the integration of additional value added and know-how. This acquisition is of strategic importance for Stoppani in terms of systematically expanding its operations in Switzerland."

Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
