The global plastics industry has been developing in full swing nowadays. With the world's economy focus continues to shift eastward, Southeast Asia is getting more attention in the plastics industry. The low labour and operation costs in this region have made it an ideal place for multinational manufacturers to establish their production bases. Benefiting from this, a variety of application industries like automotive, building, electronics industries and other various mid and high-end application industries in countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand have experienced continuous growth, which stimulated the demand for plastics and rubber. In addition, green manufacturing is now gaining global importance which set a higher environmental standard for today's plastics industry. Thus, it is imperative to develop green plastics.

As Asia's No.1 and world's No.2 plastics and rubber trade fair, CHINAPLAS 2013 (the 27th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries), which will be held on May 20-23, 2013 at China Import and Export Fair Complex, Pazhou, Guangzhou, PR China, will offer a valuable demonstration platform for Southeast Asia's plastics and rubber processing industries as well as their application industries. In 2012, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia were ranked among the top 10 importing countries of China's plastics machinery in terms of value. This year, CHINAPLAS will expect more than 1,700 exhibitors to display their plastics and rubber machinery, auxiliary and processing equipment such as blow molding machinery, extrusion machinery, injection molding machinery and rubber processing machinery, etc. Over 2,900 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions will jointly showcase a series of advanced plastics and rubber technologies for both Chinese and overseas visitors. Besides Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, PR China, Taiwan, Turkey, U.K and U.S.A., there will be two new country pavilions from Switzerland and Singapore. Moreover, more than 500 new exhibitors will participate at CHINAPLAS 2013 for their first time, including Guangdong Friend, Jiangsu ASG, Bo Langte, Shanghai GIE, Dongguan Enmair, Cowin, JT MOLD and Bestar, etc..

To cope with the diversified needs of buyers from Southeast Asia's packaging and electronics industries, the organizer will set up a new theme zone, "Film Technology Zone", which will specially display a variety of high-precision technologies of film production equipment and production lines, such as extrusion lines for blown film, extrusion lines for flat film and sheets, stretching lines for film and filament, printing machines for film, measuring & testing equipment for film, auxiliary equipment for film extrusion lines and other film processing technologies. A number of key film enterprises such as Sun Centre, Webcontrol, Han King, Queen's, Jandi's, Macro, Brampton, Andritz, Atlas will participate in this zone.

Besides setting up a new theme zone, CHINAPLAS 2013 will also enlarge the "Die & Mold Zone" and increase the exhibition area by 18% over the last edition. This zone will be located at Hall 3.2 and 4.2 at Zone A with over 200 Chinese and international exhibitors participating, including numerous well-known mold players such as LKM, Push, Sino Mould, Jing Cheng Mould, Mold- Masters, Yudo, Hotsys, Mould-Tip, Incoe, Keda, Sure Hot Runner, Tianjiang Precision, Huida, and Hang Yuan etc, together with two pavilions organized by Hong Kong Mould & Die Council and Taiwan Mold Die Industry Association, jointly showcasing a broad scope of molds and processing equipment, including blow molds, CAD-CAM, extrusion dies, hot runner systems, mold & die cleaning equipment, mold clamping systems energy couplings, injection compression molds, standard parts for molds, steel for molds, texturing and mold fixing devices.

In view of the growing needs of bioplastics throughout the Southeast Asia, there will be a 20% increase in the number of exhibitors that participate in the Bioplastics Zone this year. Well-known enterprises such as Kingfa, Hisun, Ecomann, Fukutomi, Wuhan Huali, NatureWorks, Greenbio, Esun, Xinfu and Jinxiang will gather under the same roof and showcase exhibits like PLA, PHA, PBS, PA610, PA1010, bio-based PE and bio-degradable plastics.

To facilitate professional buyers to source their interested exhibits more efficiently, the organizer will set up two specialized regions under "Chemicals & Raw Materials Zone". Pigment and masterbatch companies will be gathered in Hall 9.3 at Zone B while additive companies will be located in Hall 10.3. Over 170 related suppliers will be participated in these two specialized zones, such as Liwang, Meilian, Orion, Hongda, Sunris, Dunwa, AGC, GCH, Qujing Zhongyi, Boiln and Canal. The organizer believes that this newly centralized arrangement will provide a more effective one-stop platform for all potential buyers of color pigment, masterbatch and additive.

"As Asia's No.1 plastics and rubber trade fair, CHINAPLAS is always committed to provide a technological exchange platform for plastics equipment and raw material enterprises from Southeast Asia to showcase their products and technologies with the industry," said Ms. Helen Chan, Director of Marketing Communications Department of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., organizer of CHINAPLAS, who is very optimistic about the influence of CHINAPLAS 2013 on Southeast Asia, "This year's show will continue to cover different aspects of Southeast Asia's plastics industry and generate more global business opportunities. In March, we paid special visits to the local plastics and rubber industry associations and application industry associations in Bangkok and Jakarta, in order to understand more about the Southeast Asian market and to strengthen promotion in these areas."

The coming edition has two different entry tickets, namely one-day pass (RMB 30) and four-day pass (RMB 50). Visitors who successfully pre-registered at www.ChinaplasOnline.com on or before May 16, 2013, can redeem their visitor badges at the express counters for free admission.
