ACOME launches a new solution for easier deployment of FTTH* and business zone optical networks: City PACe®

(PresseBox) ( Ratingen, )
ACOME is the networks market leader and proposes a new, simple and economical solution for deployment of optical fibres in FTTH* networks and business zones: City PACe®.

City PACe® combines the ACOME permanent access cables (PACe® technology), already in use throughout Europe for cabling of buildings, with connectivity components specific to underground networks.

This complete system ensures rapid connection and savings of about 25% on installation and equipment costs.

The City PACe® solution guarantees gradual deployment of the optical fibre to meet growing subscriber connection needs.

The new City PACe® solution from ACOME is replacing the traditional cabling approach between the street cabinet and the building distribution point, or even the subscriber's optical wall outlet.

An effective technology with easy implementation for rapid, on-demand connection

The PACe® (Permanent Access Cabling) technology, developed and patented by ACOME, allows the extraction and splicing of optical fibres at any point on the cable, and thus at any location on the underground network. City PACe® is thus the ideal solution for evolving subscriber connection demand.

The Home-PACe solution, dedicated to cabling of buildings, has already enabled the connection of over one million fibre subscribers worldwide. City PACe® incorporates the same technological advantages for deployment of an underground network.

25% savings on installation and equipment costs

City PACe® reduces cable lengths by eliminating cable coils in the vaults, up to 10% less when compared with a conventional underground installation. The gain in time and equipment brings about savings of up to 25% as compared with the cost of a conventional solution.

An ideal technology for urban, residential or business zones

City PACe® proposes several cabling options ("2 windows®" or "single window®") depending on the urban configuration and the residential density, thus optimising initial investments and operating costs.

In particular, "single window®" technology allows extremely rapid deployment in suburban areas and business zones.

City PACe® has already been successfully deployed in several towns in Europe.

*FTTH: a FTTH (fibre to the home) network is a telecommunications network in which the optical fibre ends in the subscriber’s home.
