Wer elektronische Geräte unbeaufsichtigt auf dem Schreibtisch liegen lässt, ist schnell beklaut. Eine Studie von IDC, die von Kensington in Auftrag gegeben wurde, belegt, dass das Büro ganz oben auf der Liste der unsicheren Orte steht. 52 Prozent der Befragten wurde bereits ein elektronisches Gerät am Arbeitsplatz geklaut. Weitere Orte an denen hochwertigen Computer-Utensilien häufig unfreiwillig den Besitzer wechseln, sind Autos (16 Prozent) oder öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (13 Prozent). Diebstähle in Meeting-Räumen (8 Prozent), Bars (7 Prozent) oder Arbeitszimmer (5 Prozent) sind dagegen seltener.
