Die Covid-19-Krise hat sich länger abzeichnende Entwicklungen und Defizite in der Digitalisierung der Schweiz schonungslos entblösst, die dringend angepackt werden müssen. Schwierigkeiten in der digitalen Kommunikation der Gesundheitsbehörden, ein unzureichendes Datenmanagement im Gesundheitsbereich, digitale Hindernisse in der Pandemiebekämpfung und die zeitweise Beeinträchtigung der partizipativen Demokratie sind nur wenige Beispiele dafür, was falsch läuft. Die Position der Schweiz als moderner Staat ist akut gefährdet. Swico, der Verband der digitalen Unternehmen in der Schweiz, legt ein 10-Punkte-Programm mit 32 Ideen, Diskussionsanstössen und Forderungen vor mit dem Ziel, einen Beitrag für Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Schweiz zu leisten.
