WITTENSTEIN aerospace & simulation at ITEC 2011 in Cologne: Control Loading & Vibration

WITTENSTEIN aerospace & simulation GmbH on stand number D160 / Presentation at ITEC Conference about the system design and performance specification of our Vibration Platform (May, 12, 2011 at 02:00 pm)

(PresseBox) (Igersheim, )
"Control Loading & Vibration" are the key words on the stand at ITEC 2011. WITTENSTEIN aerospace & simulation fix their focus on their Helicopter Simulator Vibration Systems and Control Loading Systems. Visitors are invited to experience the "touch and feel" of our Control Loading Systems and Vibration Platforms.

3- axis Vibration Platform

Benefits

The high performance 3-axis vibration platform replicates vibration cues that are representative of actual helicopter flight cues. This new vibration platform offers unprecedented realism for helicopter-specific mission training, including offshore, emergency medical services, law enforcement, long line, high-altitude, corporate, and other operations. When accurately simulated, vibrations combine with visual and sound system cues to ensure that the aircrew develops proper skill-sets while experiencing representative workloads. Vibrations in helicopters, in addition to creating a realistic operating environment, provide the aircrew with rotor system dynamic feedback critical to their ability to control the aircraft.

Description

The vibration platform uses compact industrial actuators integrated into a mechanical frame assembly to provide vertical, longitudinal and lateral vibration of a simulator cockpit. The control of the vibration platform is implemented to provide the correct spectrum, amplitude and trend of vibration across the aircraft operating envelope. The spectrum is considered in two parts; the discrete frequencies from the main rotor blade passing frequency and the base spectrum of random noise.

Product Features

The integrated motor gearbox assembly offers proven and highly precise industrial drive technology whilst having compact configuration and size. Control and power supply components are centrally placed in the electrical cabinet being used as an ease plug in module to start and run the system. The control software controls and monitors the system. It also enables the user to individually configure the system for different helicopter types. An Ethernet interface is used to connect and synchronise the Vibration Platform with the host computer.
