vogt group SE expands further in international projects and establishes the first power plant in the UK

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
As a specialist in factory design and optimised production processes in the photovoltaic industry, vogt group SE is planning to expand its international activity with its subsidiaries. Since the projecting division was established in Germany in 2009, the vogt group has successfully supervised various client projects and has now extended its activities to the UK. Anton Milner, the British pioneer in the photovoltaic industry, will support the Group in this step.

With over twelve years of experience in the industry, the vogt group is a reliable and internationally recognised partner for the construction of largescale photovoltaic power plants. The Group assists its clients from the early stages of project development and choice of location all the way to completing largescale plants. It has been active since 2009 in Turkey, a future market, where it offers German expertise for the local environment in cooperation with local companies. Several projects have also been completed in emerging markets, developing a presence in Russia and India, for example. The Group has been active in the UK since 2009.

vogt group develops megawatt solar parks in the UK

With the UK Clean Energy Cashback scheme, the UK laid the foundations on 1 April 2010 for a nationwide expansion of renewable energies and will provide support from now on for the expansion and operating of photovoltaic plants and largescale power plants. With similar solarradiation levels to Germany and an attractive subsidy programme for 25year operating periods, experts believe the UK to be a growth market with enormous potential, where expansion is unrestricted.

'We have been watching developments in the UK since 2008 and are now very pleased to be able to report our first successful projects. One of these projects is a 5-MW solar park on a 12.8hectare brownfield site - a quarry in the southwest of the UK. After completing construction, the vogt group will produce approximately 4.9 million kWh of zeroemissions solar electricity each year. This is enough to provide 1,400 households with electricity and save 60,000 tonnes CO2 over an operating period of 25 years', says CEO Dagmar Vogt about the project. With this step, the vogt group is the first German PV projector to be active in the UK.

PV pioneer Anton Milner will advise the vogt group on expanding in the new market abroad: 'As an Englishman and industry insider, I naturally find this entry into the market extremely interesting and very promising. I will support these ventures in the new market environment and look forward to accompanying the vogt group in this step.'
