TÜV Rheinland presents its proposal on the subject of wind energy at the WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg from September 23-26, 2014. The focus of the presentation is the introduction of the portfolio of wind energy services. These include inspections, type and component certifications as well as manufacturing surveillance for the quality assurance of manufacturers. "We offer our clients fast and flexible solutions in the certification and inspection process," says Torsten Bednarz, responsible for sales of wind energy services at TÜV Rheinland. "With our global network of experts, we offer swift and competent support especially in Japan, Korea, India and China," according to Bednarz.

Particularly significant is the permanent monitoring of wind power stations, so-called condition monitoring. "With our new subsidiary TÜV Rheinland ISTec, we have expanded our portfolio accordingly and provide the experience and expertise from many successful projects," says Bednarz. Founded in 1992 and located in Garching and Cologne, the institute for safety technology belongs to the TÜV Rheinland Group since April and offers special safety services for various industries. For the wind energy industry, the company has developed its own CMS product, WKA-COMOS, which will be presented at the fair. The systems technology is already successfully in operation in numerous national and international wind farms. Through an optimized measurement data analysis and the event-driven reporting, clients are able to implement a targeted, condition-based maintenance strategy.

For operators, the testing service provides periodic inspections, qualification of personnel and special investigations through modern, non-destructive testing. Special site assessments, due diligence investigations and earnings forecasts in turn secure investments. With its range, the testing service provider has established itself as a reliable partner in the wind energy market for operators, owners, investors, developers and manufacturers of wind turbines and wind farms.

The presentation at WindEnergy Hamburg is an important part of the current E3 campaign by TÜV Rheinland. The company combines its extensive range of services for the energy sector under the umbrella of the "Energy Expertise Everywhere" campaign. Investors, manufacturers and operators of the energy sector can inform themselves on the expertise of TÜV Rheinland as a global, competent provider of solutions for energy issues at www.tuv-e3.com.

TÜV Rheinland is a certification organization accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for the type and component certification of onshore and offshore wind turbines according to national and international standards. The company offers sophisticated services such as site assessment and soil examination, testing of the statics, manufacturing surveillance as well as quality control and construction supervision. In addition, TÜV Rheinland performs acceptance test, periodic inspections as well as statutory inspections of wind turbines. The company supports the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines and transformer platforms with marine warranty survey services. The principle of independent surveillance is also successfully applied by the company in the quality assurance of global supply chains.
