The international collaborative agreement is valid in many regions, all of them with different visions and approaches in terms of safety – for example in the United States of America, Singapore, India and Myanmar. Through this cooperation, both partners intend to empower today´s industry with high quality personnel education for safety in hazardous sectors / environments and to encourage a more effective approach to plant safety.
Both partners have been committed to safety for many years, with a special emphasis on hazardous locations. In such environments, the expertise of designers, constructors, operators and maintenance workers is crucial to ensure the safety of users, the environment and hazardous assets. Forefront trainings and personnel certification are therefore key components for providing regular updates and state-of-the art skills and expertise in hazardous atmospheres.
The IECEx 05 Scheme defines standards relating to equipment for use in explosive atmospheres as well as rules and procedures for the certification of competences for personnel working in hazardous environments. The scheme includes 11 units of competences, from basic knowledge to area classification, installation, maintenance and overhaul of explosion-protected equipment, testing and inspection of electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres, as well as their design.
