The module presents an optimal core for applications in the field of medicine on account of its variety of interfaces with its small dimensions (54mm x 38mm) and low power consumption. The TQMa335x integrates well whether it is with projects in diagnostics and monitoring or control through medical devices with and without graphics.
All available CPU variations - from AM3352 to AM3359 can be used on TQMa335x. They differ primarily in the computing power offered as also in the functionality. As a result the user has a processor module optimized in price and power for different applications and uses. The processing power can scale from 300MHz up to 1000MHz.
Display applications can be run with a resolution of up to WXGA (1366x768) with the graphic controller available in AM335 and an optional 3D-graphic support. Demanding and innovative operating concepts can be implemented at a reasonable price through these properties.
All externally usable signals of the CPU are available over two industrial-suited cable connectors (2x 120 Pins) on a 0.8 mm grid, which has been tried and tested at TQ for more than 15 years. This makes an optimal use of all available CPU functionalities.
A total of 240 pins provide the user communication with 2 x Gigabit Ethernet USB Host / USB OTG controller and up to 6 UARTs and also two CAN 2.0. Other functional units can be connected using the parallel address/data bus, SDIO, SPI, 12C and PCIe. Up to 12 Bit ADCs expand the areas of application.
The TQMa335 has a memory storage of up to 512MByte DDR3L and up to 16GB eMMC Flash to implement programs and data. The design is supplemented with an EEPROM, and a real-time clock backed by battery (RTC) from the mainboard.
The design is supplemented also by a 128 MByte SPI NOR Flash and a supervisor for overvoltage and undervoltage.
A Linux BSP is intended for the module and main board specific interfaces. A calibration of QNX is currently being planned and will be available at the latest by the end of November 2013.
Users can use a number of qualified activation scenarios with the starter kit. Here along with two Ethernets, Graphics (1 x LVDS / 24 Bit RGB), Sound, CAN and RS485 even a mini PCLIe Slot (USB) with SIM card integration were implemented. All of the module signals not used on the starter kit are placed on a pin strip for the user to use for evaluation.
Even display units with different dimensions and resolutions as well as with touch technologies as a projective-capacitive touch or an analogue-resistive touch can be supplied.
TQ expands its product spectrum with a Cortex™-A8 module with this industrial-suited design. All customers and those interested in TQ will be supported in this product also with the customary reliability and quality in the implementation of the project.
The TQMa335x with its properties offers the best prerequisites for the development of medical products whether for an ECG monitor or ECG device, a blood pressure device or an operating unit or other medical products in the field of diagnostics or laboratory application.
