Flexibility in a robust metal housing: the spo-comm FLEX J1900

With the FLEX J1900, which was developed in collaboration with MSI IPC, spo-comm is underlining its own claim of supplying both efficient and flexible mini PCs for use in the corporate sector

(PresseBox) (Nürnberg, )
.
- Both the hardware, constructed on a modular basis, and the robust basic housing of the FLEX J1900 satisfy the highest demands.

High-quality choice of materials for industrial application areas
The entire housing of the FLEX J1900 is made of highly resistant metal, which ensures that this industrial PC functions smoothly even in adverse external conditions. At the same time, installation and start-up of the FLEX J1900 are made easy thanks to the assembly bracket that comes with the device. Further safety measures include a mains adapter which is screwed directly onto the system and rules out the possibility of the power supply being interrupted. The power supply need only supply a maximum of 30 watts of power in order to ensure continuous operation of the FLEX J1900, thanks primarily to the energy-saving Intel components in the system’s interior.

Modular embedded-PC increases flexibility
As of today, spo-comm customers can order the FLEX J1900 with a wide range of performance characteristics, as a way of adjusting the system performance to suit their own needs. As well as the firmly installed Intel CPU with four cores, the FLEX J1900 can also be fitted with up to 8 gigabytes of DDR3-RAM. A hard drive with up to 500 gigabytes of space is available to provide storage of a sufficiently high volume of data. However, this can also be exchanged for a faster Solid State Drive. The FLEX J1900 mini PC can also be expanded to include a WLAN module for rapid data exchange with mobile devices, in order to ensure a stable network connection even without a network cable.

Highly robust and highly compatible
The extremely robust metal housing mentioned above features low power consumption and a SMART fan. These precautionary measures make it possible to use this industrial PC in a broader temperature range from -10° to 60°C, without performance being impaired by these extreme changes in temperature. The FLEX J1900 also relies on interfaces that have been tried and tested in embedded PCs over a number of years – seven USB ports, one of which relies on the rapid USB 3.0 standard, provide the freedom to connect several peripheral devices to the system at the same time, while five COM ports make it possible to connect older hardware, which is encountered in the industrial sector on a regular basis.

Free choice of operating systems
Although Windows 7 and Windows 8 are currently the most widespread operating systems for all kinds of PC, spo-comm also provides all customers with the option of switching to Windows Embedded as a tried-and-tested operating system for this industrial PC. This step also significantly increases the compatibility and flexibility of the FLEX J1900. To ensure maximum ease of use in conjunction with other systems also in a Linux-dominated IT environment, it is also possible to order the system with a pre-installed Linux distribution. What's more, all operating systems are also available in 32 or 64-bit versions, in order to guarantee seamless compatibility with all kinds of software.

Manufactured for long-term use
The robust and flexible design of the FLEX J1900, which can accommodate up to two monitors via VGA or HDMI and which also provides two gigabit network connections, is supplied by spo-comm with a warranty of up to five years. This means that the system achieves an excellent price-performance ratio and can be exchanged quickly and easily in the event of damage. The successful collaboration with MSI IPC has thus been continued with the FLEX J1900, which is available as of now. The partnership is also sure to yield further interesting industrial products through spo-comm in the future.
