Es ist einer der ältesten Hacker-Tricks und er klappt nach wie vor: Namen von Stars werden für Phishing und Malware-Downloads genutzt

Kaum zu glauben, aber einer der ältesten Hacker-Tricks funktioniert auch heute noch perfekt: Rafiniert gestaltete Mails und Links auf den Plattformen der sozialen Medien versprechen Geheimnisse, Skandale oder gar Nacktfotos von Stars und Sternchen. Die aktuelle (und gleichzeitig ziemlich alte)  Betrugsmasche der Hacker verspricht Sex-Videos von Jessica Alba und weiteren Berühmtheiten wie Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Brook, Doutzen Kroes und Nicki Minaj. Da kann man schon mal neugierig werden, oder?

Aus technischer Sicht handelt es sich bei diesem Betrug um eine bösartige Google Chrome Extension, die PDFs in Facebook-Gruppen streut. Öffnen arglose, neugierige User diese PDFs so werden sie automatisch auf Web-Seiten geleitet, auf denen dann ein wahres Bombardement von Popups und Werbung für Glücksspiele und Pornografie stattfindet.

Um diese Infektion wieder aus Google Chrome zu entfernen, wird auf Sophos Naked Security eine Prozedur von Cyren beschrieben. Leider ist hierfür ein manueller Eingriff in die Registry erforderlich, was vieleicht nicht jedermanns Sache ist. Daher Augen auf und Verstand einschalten bevor man auf vermeintlich „spannende“ Inhalte klickt.
