The implementation of European directives at sera

Always up-to-date for our customers

(PresseBox) (Immenhausen, )
The implementation of European directives is generally very demanding for businesses. The associated effort for the individual company is very high, but it pays off in the long run as it leads to significant improvements in the innovation process of the products. At the same time, the company ensures that the customers can always rely on acquiring products that conform with the latest legal directives The objectives of the European guidelines include:

The determination of basic objectives, for example, the definition of safety and health requirements on a high level of protection.

The breakdown of technical trade barriers through the pan-European harmonisation of technical standards and the associated free trade within the European Union.

Based on this background, sera had already successfully implemented the following directives in the past:

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) 2004/108/EC

(formerly 89/336/EEC)

Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC ATEX Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX95)

After the implementation deadline of 29 December 2009, the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC was seamlessly integrated into the list of directives already in effect. The implementation of this directive in particular involved comprehensive efforts in regard to the complete sera pump, dosing system and compressor program.

The right step forward

In the course of the efforts, the previous hazard analyses were replaced by a risk assessment according to DIN EN 14121-1 and DIN EN 12100-1. A review of all predictable inappropriate applications for all product life cycles was required. Supplements to the products as well as product documentations were derived based on these efforts.

The result of this timely implementation is the design of all sera pumps, dosing systems and compressors in conformity with the directives.
