Der LT8714 akzeptiert Eingangsspannungen von 4,5 V bis 80 V und liefert eine Ausgangsspannung, deren Höhe durch externe Bauteile bestimmt wird. Er kann als Quelle oder Senke fungieren, unabhängig von der Polarität der Spannung. Der Controller enthält einen Rail-to-rail-Ausgangsstrom-Monitor und kann dadurch auch als Konstantstromquelle betrieben werden. Der LT8714 bietet einen innovativen EN- (Enable) Eingang, der auch langsam veränderliche Steuersignale erlaubt. Die Ausgangsspannung wird über eine externe Spannung am CTRL-Pin programmiert.
Die feste Schaltfrequenz ist im Bereich von 100 kHz bis 750 kHz wählbar oder kann mit einem externen Taktsignal synchronisiert werden. Der LT8714 liefert ein "Power good"-Signal, das anzeigt, ob die Ausgangsspannung dem programmierten Wert entspricht oder nicht. Die Current-mode-Regelung gewährleistet eine hervorragende Eingangs- und Lastregelung.
Der Controller bietet interne Überstromschutz-, Unterspannungsabschaltungs- und Soft-Start-Funktionen. Der LT8714 ist in einem 20-poligen TSSOP-Gehäuse.
