SPRINT steht für Sprache und Integration – ein Projekt, das innerhalb weniger Monate in Niedersachsen Tausende junger Flüchtlinge erreicht hat. Das Projekt baut eine Brücke zwischen auslaufender Schulpflicht und Übergang in die Berufs- und Arbeitswelt. Die Zielgruppe ist nicht mehr auf Schulpflichtige beschränkt, sondern auf Jugendliche bis zum 21. Lebensjahr erweitert. In der Region Hannover besuchen mittlerweile mehr als 250 Schülerinnen und Schüler mit Migrations- oder Flüchtlingshintergrund die Klassen, die in fast allen Berufsbildenden Schulen der Region angeboten werden. Die Berufsbildende Schule Neustadt a. Rbge. bietet ihren Schülerinnen und Schülern eine Besonderheit: Im Zuge des SPRINT-Projektes kooperiert die Schule mit Unternehmen vor Ort und öffnet den Jugendlichen dadurch eine Tür in die Berufs- und Arbeitswelt. Kultusministerin Frauke Heiligenstadt wird sich das besondere Projekt am Donnerstag, 12. Mai 2016, zwischen 10 und 12 Uhr in der BBS Neustadt, Bunsenstraße 6, 31535 Neustadt a. Rbge. anschauen und mit Schulleiter Bernhard Marsch über die vorhandenen Kooperationen der Schule sprechen. Im Anschluss daran besucht die Ministerin um 13 Uhr die Alice-Salomon-Schule, Kirchröder Str. 13, in Hannover, um dort am Unterricht der beiden SPRINT-Klassen teilzunehmen und damit einen Einblick in die Arbeit im Rahmen des Moduls „Einführung in die regionale Kultur- und Lebenswelt“ zu erhalten.
