PocketGear Deutschland Launches new Mobile Portal and App Store

The new mobile portal supports over 200 smartphones and includes powerful automatic device recognition technology that optimizes on-the-fly to support any mobile browser and screen-sizes from 176x208 to 640x480 pixels, as well as dynamically sorts the application catalog to only display apps that work with a user's mobile device. The new mobile portal also safely encrypts payment information so that users do not have to fumble with the small keyboard to enter the same payment information again and again to download apps. In addition, the mobile portal's digital locker feature provides users with the ability, to always access downloads and license codes of purchased software. The mobile portal currently supports English and German languages and accepts payment in US Dollars, British Pounds and Euros. The German version also contains daily news covering mobile computing and mobile communication.
The launch is complemented by the availability of the free Mobile2Day App Store application for Windows Mobile, Palm OS and Symbian OS, with BlackBerry and Android coming soon.
