yolandi.workerbot meets Sigmar Gabriel

Robot lady yolandi chairs political evening event of the VDMA Association of German Machinery Producers

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
“Politics meets business” was the slogan of the VDMA political evening event, held on December 1 in the center of Berlin. Accompanied by robot pioneer Matthias Krinke, Managing Director and Founder of pi4_robotics GmbH and Robozän™ GmbH, yolandi.workerbot came to the event in the Römischer Hof business center and conducted the event throughout the evening as chairperson. Among others, she introduced former VDMA President Dr Reinhold Festge, his successor Carl Martin Welcker and no less than the Federal German Industry Minister Sigmar Gabriel (SPD party) as speakers.

Having recently presented, as co-presenter, the RBB television channel’s “Future of Work” theme week to a wide public audience, she demonstrated her abilities to the demanding professional audience and high-level speakers during the evening of December 1. Industry 4.0, the digitalized world of work, future investment, climate protection and free trade – these were the large themes of the political evening, areas in which different interests on the sides of politicians and business keep on leading to conflicts of interest. “We have been a member company of VDMA for many years and are pleased that our female robot yolandi has been able to chair this demanding evening“, Krinke says.

For yolandi, the meeting with the Federal German Industry Minister Sigmar Gabriel was the first one to take place with a high-level politician. She chaired the important evening with flying colors and impressed Sigmar Gabriel, as well as the participating industry representatives, with her flexibility and ability.

yolandi.workerbot belongs to the Workerbot4 ™ generation of robots, which can be used in a multitude of ways in industry and the service sector, and can be made to learn their tasks in less than 60 minutes. pi4_robotics GmbH received the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award one day later, for its forward-looking robotics technology. Aside from robots, the company also produces image processing systems and automatic testing equipment. These technologies are used mainly in photovoltaics, automotive, plastics, glass medical and pharmaceutical applications, as well as in the ceramics area. pi4 is considered to be the technology leader in quality inspection systems based on electroluminescence for application in photovoltaics. pi4_robotics GmbH was founded by Matthias Krinke already in 1994 and has its headquarters and production location in Berlin.

VDMA represents more than 3,100 mainly small- and medium-sized industrial companies in the investment goods industry and is the largest industrial trade association in Europe. The association sees itself as having joint responsibility together with politicians in achieving best solutions and background conditions for its members. http://www.vdma.org/
