Standards for the Railway Market
One essential program which is done in collaboration with the European Union and many prominent members of UNIFE is Shift2Rail. The program should bundle the EU’s research and innovations activities, to stay competitive, reduce costs and improve quality in the European railway market.
Especially with regard to the harmonization of the European traffic management systems (particularly ERTMS/ETCS) and the increasing rail digitalization, the consistent use of standardized components plays a major role.
Within its own product families MEN has relied on modular and standardized components from the beginning. They are qualified or even certified especially to the requirements of the railway market. The newest modular product family for rail applications is menTCS.
With its UNIFE membership and its participation in relevant research programs, MEN wants to share its vast experience and contribute to development, to guarantee solutions that both customers and suppliers can benefit from in the future.
