MEKRA Lang as member of the Concept Cab Clusters receives VDBUM-Development Grant 2016 for the Genius Cab

(PresseBox) (Ergersheim, )
For the 4th time, a prize for innovation in the construction and construction machine industry was awarded at this year's major seminar of the Construction, Environment and Machine Technology Association in Willingen/Sauerland. As a member of the Concept Cab Clusters, MEKRA Lang received first prize for the Genius Cab in the "Developments in the Industry" category. This 2,500 Euro endowment prize was presented during an evening event at the seminar and accepted by our partners Prof. Jens Krzywinski (TU Dresden), Dr. Thomas Hiebaum (HELLA), Fritz Schadek (Fritzmeier) and Alexandra Herrmann (Fritzmeier).

This prize, unique to the construction industry, recognizes work and concepts that optimize and increase efficiency of machines and their components or aims at the optimisation of construction methods. This prize is designed to provide students, young academics, apprentices, as well as experienced practitioners, an incentive to bring innovative ideas to the market.

The Genius Cab model that was developed in the framework of the Concept Cab Clusters was presented for the first time at bauma 2016 and received bauma's Innovation Prize for 2016 in the "Design" category. The Genius Cab is the result of development in cooperation with global players such as MEKRA Lang, prestigious scientific institutions, designers, industry associations and equipment distributors and users, under the direction of the Fritzmeier Corporation. This is a real experiential vision of a wheel loader cab that through the integration of single components creates a completely new and unique system solution. As a first step, a consistent styling concept for the exterior and interior was developed across all manufacturers. The integrated components set new standards in terms of security, usability, driving comfort, service and style. MEKRA Lang delivered innovative vision solutions for the cab in the form of a mirror replacement camera system in combination with a digital variable field-of-vision reverse camera.

Please find attached the prize given to MEKRA Lang.
