The award from the Baden-Württemberg Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BWIHK) came as a huge surprise to Marcus Kurz. "I actually found the training quite easy. But I never thought that I would do so well in the final exam," said the delighted 19-year old.
Shortly after completing his GCSEs, he decided to take part in the training programme as a cutting tool mechanic at MAPAL. "I was always interested in technology, even as a child", said Marcus. A one-week internship at the well-equipped MAPAL training workshop and the open working atmosphere at the company confirmed his choice of career. During his three-year training at MAPAL Marcus was able to work in various production areas which he found particularly exciting. "I thought it was great that my trainer allowed me to work independently."
Kurz is currently attending the technical college in Aalen in order to complete his vocational diploma. After obtaining his excellent examination results, he decided he wanted to gain more qualifications. Next year he would like to begin a cooperative education programme in mechanical engineering. For the practical work experience he will go back to the company. MAPAL has already offered Marcus suitable training and will continue to support him in his career.
