A total of 60 DC motors will serve as hoist, trolley, gantry and derrick motors on four cranes in Eastern Europe. Their power output ranges from 30 to 400 kW. In addition, 22 asynchronous machines providing an output of 500 kW are to be used as hoist motors on eleven more cranes. The order volume exceeds €1 million.
LDW currently ships between 200 and 250 high-performance crane motors per year. A large share of these is supplied as components for Liebherr and Gottwald cranes, but the customer base also includes cargo handling operations and port authorities.
While the AC market is a relatively new field for the almost century-old company LDW, it is also the fastest-growing area regarding crane motor sales. So far, 30 machines from LDW’s new A5L product series have been shipped and 15 more are currently being manufactured. The new Liebherr order adds to this momentum.
