Leuze electronic wurde zum 15. August 2016 in den Weltmarktführerindex (WMF-Index) der Universität St.Gallen als Champion im Bereich Optosensorik aufgenommen. Die Champions-Kategorie beschreibt Unternehmen mit einem Umsatz von mehr als 50 Mio. Euro und einem Auslands-/Exportanteil von mindestens 50%. Voraussetzung ist zudem, dass die Unternehmen ihren Stammsitz im DACH-Raum haben, weltweit auf mindestens drei Kontinenten tätig und Marktführer in ihrem relevanten Segment sind. Der WMF-Index wird objektiv erforscht und präsentiert transparent die Weltmarktführer im DACH-Raum. Die Auswahlkriterien und die ermittelten Werte werden offen gelegt und der gesamte Index öffentlich zugänglich gemacht. Die Erstellung und wissenschaftliche Leitung des Projektes liegt bei Gqnt. Zq.
